About

Trey is the managing partner of the Clawson & Staubes Greenville Office. His practice areas include insurance defense, mediation, coverage opinions, personal injury defense, premise liability defense, product defect defense, construction defect defense, and governmental liability defense. He has tried over 30 cases to verdict in various courts in South Carolina, including Federal District Court. Trey also has experience of arguing before the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Trey is also a certified mediator.

Trey is a native of Upstate South Carolina having graduated from Byrnes High School. He attended Limestone University where he majored in Business Administration and Management of Information Systems. He received Limestone’s Annual Excellence in Business and Economics Award in 2003 and graduated with honors cum laude. While at Limestone, Trey played 4 years on the varsity baseball team. He also served as Vice President for the Student Alumni Leadership Council. In 2022, he was elected to the Limestone University Board of Trustees.

Trey is a graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law. While he is a graduate of FCSL, Trey attended the University of South Carolina Law School for his entire 3L year.

In addition to acting as the managing partner for Clawson & Staubes for the Greenville Office, Trey is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and leads a mentoring program within the firm for new associates.
