Scott Finney

About
Scott practices civil litigation covering a wide range of matters at the state and federal level, with a focus on municipal defense and general liability claims. He represents and advocates for clients ranging from individuals to corporations and governmental entities. Through his litigation practice, Scott handles cases involving complex statutory, constitutional, and related legal issues in the public and private spheres.
Scott attended law school at the University of North Carolina and graduated in 2025. In law school, Scott interned for the Honorable Richard D. Bennett of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and for the Honorable Chief Justice Paul Newby of the North Carolina Supreme Court. He also served as the Executive Editor for Volume 26 of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology and took part in the Community Development Law Clinic.
Scott is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and he graduated from Gilman School in 2015 before attending Furman University in Greenville, SC. He graduated from Furman in 2019 with a B.S. in Biology and an interdisciplinary minor in Environmental Studies. While preparing for law school, Scott held positions in logistics and sales at a wholesale nursery in Maryland.
Scott lives in Greenville, SC. Outside of the office, he likes cooking and outdoor activities like hiking. Scott also enjoys watching sports and cheering on the Ravens, Orioles, and Tar Heels.
